As part of Flint and Flint Dental Surgeons ongoing commitment to providing the very best, cutting edge technology for our patients, we have invested in the latest digital radiography (X- Rays) system. Unlike conventional x Rays, digital radiographs are developed without the need for photographic chemicals.
There are many benefits for patients as the radiation dose is substantially reduced compared to conventional X-rays, meaning they are much safer. Also, the image is shown on our dental surgery screens within 30 seconds, so any issues can be discussed immediately with the patient. The x rays are centrally stored on our secure database and can be accessed by our dental surgeons.
We are also one of only a handful of dental practices in Sheffield and the UK to have own in house CT scanner. The scanner allows us to view areas 3-dimensionally which significantly improves our treatment planning process. This CT scanner is particularly useful during dental implant surgery, allowing a much less invasive procedure (therefore very fast healing times) over conventional surgery. We accept referrals for Ct scans from other dental practices in Sheffield.
Dental treatment may also be carried out under magnification using our microscope enabling precision dental treatment. This enables us to provide your treatment to a very high standard.
Our practice is unique and can only be rivalled by a select few practices in the UK in that we have our own, fully staffed and equipped state of the art dental laboratory on site. Having worked with external laboratories for many years, we realized the best way to ensure the very highest standard of laboratory work was to have our own onsite laboratory. Our laboratory technicians are amongst the best in the UK offering bespoke ceramic work, dental implant and denture manufacture. Only a handful of practices in the UK can offer this service.
Our on-site laboratory means that rather than being posted or couriered to labs elsewhere, all of our ceramic veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures and dental implants are made in house. This certainly enables us to be at the forefront of dental technology and service.
